• About Christopher Companies •
Christopher Companies, based in Oakton, Va, was founded in 1974 by Fred Kober as a design-conscious builder/developer with operations in Northern Virginia and the Tidewater area of Virginia, and they have fulfilled the dreams ofover 6,000 satisfied homebuyers.
Through the years, Kober, who recently passed away, provided the vision for the firm’s development. His insight and experience provided the basis for ongoing endeavors. As an invaluable link to the past and a tie to the future, Fred, as Chairman of the Board, consulted on all aspects of management of The Christopher Companies.
He believed in giving back to the communities where he built through charitable works, most notably the
Northern Virginia Building Industry Association’s “Builder’s House 2001” project in 1994, which raised over half a million dollars for the Ronald McDonald House, as well as for other local charities.
Coming to Charlottesville at Whittington and The Towns at Stonefield was really like coming home as one of their Principals has family in the Charlottesville area dating back to the 1600s.
According to their website, their mission is to build quality homes and community concepts that reflect and enhance their buyer’s needs and lifestyle, as well as the advancement of the community at large. They are committed to offering their customers healthy and environmentally friendly homes. Homes are designed and built with respect for the environment as well as the long-term cost of ownership.
