Southern Development was founded by Frank Ballif, a University of Virginia graduate. They are an independent, Charlottesville-based builder.

Southern Development builds Eco-Smart homes. This includes GeoSpring hybrid water heaters and dual-pane windows with low-E coating and argon gas filled.

They have their own design center that is project-central for your new home. Once you’ve selected your site and floor plan, you’ll meet with their design consultants in downtown Charlottesville to begin the process of adding your personal touches.
