When we first moved to Charlottesville, it was because we were looking for a better quality of life. We wanted four seasons, low crime, smaller town feel, excellent schools, exceptional health care and fine dining. We also wanted a healthy place to raise our children and certainly found this in Charlottesville.
What is interesting is that many of these same parameters are the requirements of most couples who are looking to retire.
Since I work in Charlottesville Virginia real estate, I meet many people from around the world, who are now retiring and looking for the quality of life that we all deserve.
You can start by checking out publications, as they do a good job of locating places that are desirable.
Here are a few example of what some publications say about Charlottesville:
Kiplinger.com – “Number One City for Retirement ” and “Top Places to Retire”
Money Magazine – “100 Best Places to Live”
Relocate America – “Best Place to Relocate”
Travel 50 & Beyond – “Top Ten Great Places to Retire”
Golf Digest – “Best Retirement City for Golfers”
AARP – “Top 10 Healthiest Places to Retire”
Well, you get the picture. That being said, when we decided to relocate, we visited many locations across the United States and ended up in Charlottesville.
This was the best decision of our life.
Come visit anytime and see why the small town of Charlottesville is so desirable.
